Construction waste recycling and reuse process:
1. Classification, collection and transportation
At the construction site or demolition operation, effective garbage classification is first carried out. Construction waste is usually divided into several categories such as concrete, bricks and tiles, wood, metal, plastic and other sundries. The construction unit should set up a special storage area and guide the workers to correctly place various types of garbage. The classified construction waste needs to be transported to the centralized processing center by professional vehicles. These vehicles should have good sealing performance to prevent leakage during transportation.
2. Pretreatment and sorting
After arriving at the processing center, the construction waste will undergo a series of pretreatment steps. First, large pieces of construction waste are broken into smaller particles by crushing and screening. Then, magnetic separation equipment is used to extract iron items such as steel bars. In addition, air separation and water washing are used to remove light impurities and soil attached to the surface of the material.
3. Crushing and screening
The pretreated construction waste is fed into the crusher through a vibrating feeder for primary crushing, usually a mobile jaw crusher. After primary crushing, the construction waste is sent to the secondary crushing equipment – mobile impact crusher through a conveyor, and further crushed into the required particle size. The crushed mixture is screened by a vibrating screener to sort out materials of different particle sizes. Those that meet the requirements are sent to the finished product pile, and those that do not meet the requirements are returned to the secondary crushing equipment for re-crushing.
4. Production of recycled materials
The pre-treated construction waste can be processed into a variety of recycled products according to its characteristics:
Recycled aggregate: The screened concrete gravel is further cleaned and dried to make recycled aggregate that meets the standards, which can be used to prepare recycled concrete or as road base filler. Recycled bricks: Through pressing technology, waste bricks and tiles can be remade into new environmentally friendly bricks, which are suitable for municipal engineering and garden landscape construction. Recycled metal: The recycled metal materials can be cast into various industrial products or civil hardware after smelting.
